Thanks to both of you. I didn't know about these sites until Tuesday, so this is my only post. When we were in Mississippi at the Old Capitol a few years ago, I found a John H. Tabor's record as follows: John H. Tabor Pvt., Capt. D.R. Hundley's Company, Martin's Regiment of Volunteers. Age 70 years (! Could this possibly be right?) Co. D, Mississippi Inf. (Confederate) Joined Memphis August 10, 1861, for period of one year. Notation says this company eventually became Co. A, 55th Regiment, Alabama Infantry. Of course, the man I'm looking for was not 70. He was born about 1813. I'll check the Mississippi site. Thanks again.
