Action at Gaines Landing

In June, 1863, Col. John B. Clark, Jr., led Clark's Regt, Musser's Bn, and Von Phul's battery from Fort Pleasant to Gaines Landing to engage Federal shipping on the Miss. River. The force spent about a month away from Fort Pleasant and then returned in July. The OR and ORN, give slight info as to what happened on the river. Does anyone know of a source other than the official records that provides some insight into the activities of Clark's command at and near Gaines Landing?

Any help appreciated.
