Roy,
These are the two discriptions of his service. Thank you for any help. One says he was shot while on Duty, makes one think he was guarding.

George Grigg enlisted in Shalers Reg., 27th Ark, Infantry, also Adams regt., Age 18, He was a private, in Company B. He was killed at Garard, La., on August 4, 1863. His body was taken to Camp Taylor for Burial. His personal effects were received by Camp Taylor officials on Feb. 11, 1864. He was shot while on Duty.

Private Enlisted in Co. F, Adams’ Arkansas Regiment, at Kingston, Arkansas, August 11, 1862; age 18; attached to this company at Camp Mazzard, Arkansas, December 18, 1862; died at Girard Station, Louisiana, on August 4, 1863. Buried Camp Taylor, Ark. Transfered to Shalers Regt. Infantry, Com. B (new)
