John M. Elder

John M. Elder is my g.g. grandfather. He lived in the Morrilton/Uniontown area. He was born in 1836 in GA/AL. I have him on the 1860 Ar Census w his family in MOrrilton,AR. The story goes that he went off to the Civil War and was killed. I do not know which side, but I strongly suspect it was for the Confederacy. We have no idea WHERE he is buried. His wife (my g.g.granmother) remarried after the war and we have located her burial site.

I have not been able to confirm or deny any of the above other than the two census that I have from 1850 in MS and 1860 in AR. I have spent countless hours trying to locate more of my ancestor. I hope someone here can help. My best.
