Re: Pine Bluff, Arkansas - URGENT

Ms West

Thank you very much for your message. Unfortunately I do not have detailed information as to where Col McGregor was buried. I know that he died from wounds recieved during the Battle of Murfreeboro a day or so after the Battle in a Union field Hospital. But I have found no record as to what the dispostion of his remains was.

He was from the Nashville, Tennessee area before moving to Arkansas. And was related to the Donaldson family for whom he was named. So it is quit probable that family members in the area claimed his body and moved it to the family plot. But I have no information that says this, and that information would most likely rest with Donaldson and McGregor family Historians.

I am going to forward this information to some other interested persons in my circles to see if they have anything addition. Also we would be interested in the condition of Colonel McGregors grave and such. Does Colonel McGregor have a headstone? From your conversation I gather that he doesn't.
