All the NARA records of the 28th/36th Arkansas are filed under 36th Arkansas, so looking for references to the 28th Arkansas wouldn't help.

Records of the 36th Arkansas, as with most Trans-Mississippi regiments, just aren't as detailed as those regiments that served east of the Mississippi. The 10th Arkansas records you found were from the period before the regiment returned to Arkansas. There was a fairly extensive discussion earlier about the reasons for the relatively poor records.

I don't know of any history dealing specifically with the 36th Arkansas, though the regiment is mentioned in the O.R.'s and other works dealing with the Trans-Mississippi Army; however, for the most part those references do not pertain to individual soldiers.
