Chuck, I've read several references to the cloud of suspicion that hung over the Arkansas Post troops when they were exchanged east of the Mississippi River and joined the Army of Tennessee. I think I may have copies of some of them. I'll have to look around here and see.

Regarding the events surrounding Arkansas Post, and the 24th Arkansas Infantry, you might want to contact Doyle Taylor. He has done substantial research on the Civil War in central Arkansas during the 1862-63 timeframe.
