Hey Doyle, I found Camp Texas!

Doyle,

I can't remember if the Camp Texas location ever got settled in an old string of postings but I did find specific details on its location and will post them here. You may already know this or not.

I remember the last postings mentioned it somewhere on the Saline River out of Benton. According to soldier Silas Turnbo, 27th Ark Inf, it was out of Little Rock 5 miles on the Arkadelphia Road (aka the Hot Springs Road, the Benton Road, which would be the Military Road, Hwy 5 today). He said a small group of Texans had camped there and called it Camp Texas. THis was during the previous year, 1862-May 63. Is this the Camp Texas you sought???
