Bruce, I wonder if you could resolve a question I've had about this officer? All his correspondence and communications I've read bears his signature as "Arch. S. Dobbin" (no "s"), but all the biographical information I've read about him, and some of the correspondence addressed TO him spells his name "Dobbins."

What's your opinion as to the proper spelling of his name?
