Thanks for confirming the spelling of Major William Gipson's name. When you have time, I'd be interested to see the information you have on Gipson's Battalion and its relation to Chew's Battalion. I'm sure you've seen the information posted by Danny on the battalion. I'm interested to know the conclusions you come to on the number of companies in Gipson's Battalion along with any other information.
