Connie, the H. A. Logan who served in Co. D, 19th (Dawson's) Arkansas Infantry, was Henry A. Logan, not Hugh A. Logan. He was a resident of Polk County, Arkansas, who enlisted at Rocky Comfort, Arkansas, October 25, 1861; age 22; was mustered into service at Nashville, Arkansas, November 21, 1861, for twelve months; was captured at Arkansas Post, January 11, 1863, and was sent to Gratiot Street Prison, St. Louis, Missouri; then was transferred to Camp Douglas, Chicago, Illinois; then forwarded to Aiken’s Landing, Virginia, for exchange, April 2, 1863; and was exchanged at City Point, Virginia, April 10, 1863. He returned to duty with the 19th Arkansas and served with this command to the end of the war. He was paroled at Jamestown, North Carolina, on May 1, 1865.

Henry A. Logan resided in Howard County, Arkansas, after the war. He applied for a Confederate pension in 1906. He died in 1920 and is interred in Athens Cemetery in Howard County.

There was a Hugh Logan who served in the CSA from Arkansas. This man enlisted in Co. A, 16th Arkansas Infantry, at Clarksville, Arkansas, September 12, 1861; age 18; reenlisted at Camp Priceville, Tupelo, Mississippi, July 20, 1862, for three years or the war; was wounded and captured at Corinth, Mississippi, October 4, 1862; was paroled at Iuka, Mississippi, October 19, 1862, and exchanged at Vicksburg, Mississippi, November 8, 1862; was captured again at Port Hudson, Louisiana, July 9, 1863, and paroled on July 12, 1863.

Does the California grave have a modern VA marker? If so, then the marker was issued in error.
