Centerville was localed at the intersection of two important roads of the times. The North to South Pine Bluff to Warren road and the Mt Elba road. Present day US Hwy 63 (Arkansas 15) was built east of the Pine Bluff to Warren road and is one of the main reasons that Centerville died out.
