Thanks Bryan. A few minutes ago I just stumbled across a huge amount of information concerning the 7th that may interest you. The Stroud collection at the Regional Studies Center at Lyon College contains a large volume of Franklin Desha's person papers. Included in the collection are such things as muster rolls, morning reports, and ordinance lists, medical discharges, orders from Colonel McCarver, and court-martial reports. I've been sitting 13 miles from all this for 5 years and had no idea. Now I have to wait a week before I get a chance to look at it. I may need to come down with a sudden case of the flu.
