Yes, I agree with you 100% about it being our lifetime that the South finally pulled out of the hardtimes and
depression that came from reconstruction.
In my way of thinking even the great depression and the huge migrations westward out of the South were
brought by fallout from reconstruction. To be honest, the Great Depression did not end until the mid-60's
in my opinion. I have lots of opinions on this, but I will stop here. While not trying to offend anyone,
you must remember I grew up in a household where Yankee was a cuss word.
