Actually the Reconstruction didn't end until 1954 with the invention of the Rust Cotton Picker, repeal of railroad tariff taxes on goods manufactured in the south, and the reindustrialization of the south. We still suffer the effects today from the largely earned reputation of having an unskilled/low wage labor force. We are still to a lot of people just dumb hick redneck southerners. The War ain't over!
