I'm seeking info on the 57th USCT recruited mainly in Arkansas. The 57th or part of it was sent to NM as garrison troops in 1865 at Fts Stanton, Craig, Union and probably others. The Army moved all the NM units around a lot. I would like to know by what route they went to NM and their previous history before 1865. We have the muster rolls, correspondence, etc for the NM time. but nothing before. Earl Pittman (Fort Stanton Foundation)
