George W Cook enlisted in Adams Reg.later transferred to 27th Ark.where he is shown as a deserter on 12 Aug. 62.Family lore indicates that while home in NW Ark. he was conscripted into a US unit, maybe a SW Mo. unit.There are several GW Cooks listed in Mo. regiments. Is there any way to determine which if any is the right George? Thanks. jim c
