Talk about bias. I watched the show " Gettyburg" on the Military channel Saturday night. The battle that changed the War. The narrator, might have been guest, stated the only reason for the Civil War was over slavery. Also that the war was just for the rich planters and that somehow they managed to talk the poor whites into fighting for them. That it had nothing to do with States Rights. The battle history was very good with graphics etc. They made a big deal about Custer's charge stopping the far larger Jeb Stewarts calvery from from making Picket's charge a sucess. I just thought it was political and not pure history whicn you would expect from that channel. I agree we all have a bias in our human nature. I have a 1936 Texas History book that was a public school book. It too is bias to the times, with heros of organations that are considered villians today.
