After the dedication of the Camp White Sulphur Springs Confederate Cemetery several years ago, Doyle Taylor and I stayed on and talked Civil War until almost dark. It was a quiet discussion between two dedicated researchers that took place in the still of the evening, with a gentle breeze blowing through the tall pines, surrounded by the graves of Confederate soldiers. It was one of the most memorable evenings of my life.
