There is no historical marker for this event. I talked to the man who knows more Franklin Co. history than anyone and he agreed there was no permanent camp of any kind. He thinks Cabell crossed the river somewhere between the
dam and the bridge but is unsure of the exact location. Wish I could be of more help, but this is the first I had heard of this action. Most troop movements in our area were carried out by small numbers and of short duration.
