Resources I have read indicate Cabell brought 900 troops and 2 artillery pieces from a camp near Ozark to try to capture Fayetteville from Union control. Started their march on April 16 -- not a lot of action along the route until they reached Fayetteville early a.m. of April 18.

It would amaze you how many important historical sites have been "lost in time." I've hit situation before where I have to use approximate locations for route-mapping research. Part of the "fun" of that research is sniffing out those lost locations. As I dug out the Butterfield Stagecoach Route from Tipton MO to San Francisco CA, I discovered several station sites that had disappeared or been "sunk" during later reservoir / lake construction.

Will keep digging and let y'all know when the project is completed.
