For any who are interested, Jim Lair has completed his first of 4 books about the war specifically in and about Arkansas. Of course he writes it from the Confederate perspective as we were, after all, a CS state, but he does not ignore the Union sentiment either. He is doing a book signing today at Hastings in Benton, will do another at the State Capitol on Monday and one down in Pine Bluff as well later on. Barnes and Nobles carries them as well. I have not had a chance to get into mine yet so can't give any details other than it looks to be informative. THought I would pass this on to any who are interested. No one else has undertaken such a task as writing a 4 volume work strictly on Arkansas.
