Hi Bob, I saw your reply and I have most of what you posted. I also have his Bio, published in Tulare County, Ca. stating he was conscripted into the southern army at the time of the breaking out of the Civil war, but that he was left at home to look after women and children. He was subsequently again conscripted, sent to the front, and being taken prisioner, was confined at Fort Smith where he resumed the practice of his profession. Remaining there several years after the close of the conflict. He came to California in 1874. On his burial information sheet at the Porterville Cemetary he is listed as a "Veteran of the Civil War.
