Hello, can you provide the info that shows he rec'd a head wound at Ft Thompson? Is it family info or is it listed anywhere else? I wrote the history on the 11th Arkansas and that early info is hard to come by. By the way, Ft Thompson is not on Island 10. The 11th first occupied what would become Ft Pillow on the Tenn shore where the batteries were constructed. Then they were moved to Island 10 to help build the fortifications and batteries there. THey were quite angry about not having their guns and only doing manual labor. THen they were moved to the Missouri shore where Ft Thompson was located. They remained until 13 March when they evacuated. My question is regarding this wound. I can't remember without going to check my files but I don't think they engaged in combat that early with the Union troops. I don't think they made it that far down yet. WOuld always like any info regarding 11th Ark soldiers though. CPT Cunningham was from western Saline Co on the road to Mt Ida.
