I believe that Pvt. Stephen Wallace of the 3rd Ark. was my gg uncle. I have seen a post elsewhere that he was in Ashley Co. for the 1860 census, was born in NC abt. 1836 which seems to fit my kinsman. I have also seen a post that he was wounded in the left arm at Gettysburg on July 2, 1863, captured, had his arm amputated and died of his wounds Aug. 22, 1863. If anyone can provide me with any information about this person or sources to document the post that I refer to above, I would be very appreciative. My gg grandfather James Wallace served in the 20th Ala and at least one other gg uncle served in a Miss unit.
