Re: Finding Ancestor's Burial Location

THere was no battle of Little ROck in May 1863, that did not occur until Sept 1863. He more than likely died of disease or accident. Any CS soldiers (and I am presuming he is CS) were buried in what is today Mount Holly cemetery or on grounds of the penetentiary (State Capitol today). After the war these CS burials were moved to the National Cemetery as unknowns for the most part, or the public cemetery, Oakland, right beside the Natl Cemetery also has a mass grave of these men as well. Very few have identified tombstones. Both cemeteries can be checked. Good luck.
