I have an Edward M. McAlister and sons William and George from Franklin County Arkansas. I found Edward in Arkansas 15th northwest regiment, having enlisted at Ozark. There are no pension records and the history comm. will not tell me if there are confederate military records w/o sending form and money. Anyone have tips for determining if this is my Edward M. McAlister born 1817 in Tennesee before I pay on a guess? Maybe somewhere that might list more detailed info.
