Mr. Deavers, I attempted to post a reply on Friday, so my apologies to you and to the forum if the first one eventually shows up and duplicates this information.

Although not an original period document, I did locate a handful of items signed by your Squire Boone in his own hand that are included in his individual service records. Among these is his parole document from Vicksburg and a couple of other standard forms he filled out, but all are clearly signed "Squire Boone, Col 15th Ark Inf".
