Was just looking this battle up as my great grandfather is reported to have been wounded in the battle. He was serving with the 1st Iowa Calvary of the Federal Army, enlisted in 1861, was discharged at the end of the war. He was born in Louisa County Iowa June 2, 1835, died December 17, 1921.
