At least half the members of the 62nd Militia Regiment declined or avoided subsequent military service. Of those who later served, over half served in U.S. volunteer regiments raised in Arkansas, some after first serving in the CSA 34th Arkansas Infantry and 4th Arkansas Cavalry.
