I have not read it, but volume 12, number 6 North and South magazine has an article on Colonel Colton Greene's operations along the Mississippi in Chicot and Desha counties in spring of 1864. Should be an interesting read. Marmadukes Brigade, with Greene in command, along with attached artillery shut down the boat traffic in that section of the river. One of those little known operations in Arkansas. Greene's activity brought about the Battle at Ditch Bayou. If you are not familar with these operations along the river, I think you will it very interesting.
