I am researching one of my ancestors who was in the Desha County Battalion Arkansas Militia. I have looked online at the various sites and at the NARA site. Was this Militia also called the "6th Brigade" ? Did they also fight at Wilsons's Battle Creek here in Missouri? Is there anyone you could refer me to that is knowledgeable about the Desha County Battalion Arkansas Militia ? I realize I could order his military and pension records from the NARA, but I live on a very fixed income since I am a disabled veteran and I cannot afford to pay for his records. :(
