I find a Ruben Tedman in command of a Volunteer Cavalry Company from Crittenden County in October of 1846. that's right, 46. But it looks like it might be the same fellow who was the Colonel Commendant of the 30th Militia Regiment from Crittenden County in 1860 and is later listed as the Commanded a Volunteer Cavalry Company known as the Crittenden Rangers in 1861.
