Re: Capt. Ruben. T. Redman
Reuben T. Redman was born c1817 in Tennessee, a Mexican War veteran, and a prominent planter in Crittenden County. He raised a mounted company, the Crittenden Rangers, which was organized at Hopefield on April 17, 1861. Redman was elected captain, but, due to his age and health, he resigned prior to the company entering State service on June 3, 1861. Josiah F. Earle was elected captain in his place.
