I was interested in the consolidation because of our conversations regarding the campaign participation credit for the 153rd and it's designation as the "First Arkansas". I think it is significant that the two regiments with the title "1st Arkansas" were eventually combined, first as a field consolidation in 1864 and as a permanent consolidation in April of 1865.
