I agree Bryce, seems a little high. But I can vouch for Co H, Monroe's Regt as having 45 men on it's rolls as either still present on the last muster of Feb 1864 or as having info as being killed or captured during the Missouri expedition. SO if companies had around 50 men each and 10 companies existed then it is possible. Of course there were more men who were still carried on the rolls, but were listed as absent and some were captured during the fall of 1864 at home in Saline Co so there were more than 50 soldiers who were still being carried on paper by that company and probably the same in others. However, I suspect that they carried less in to the expedition later that year. If 45 were present FEb I am sure some of them were absent or missing as well.
