J. B. Harkrider was Captain of Company K, Witt's 10th Arkansas Cavalry.
There are no muster rolls available for Company K or the regiment. The only cards for the Capt. are two pertaining to the surrender of their command May 11, 1865 and parole at Jacksonport, Arkansas, June 5, 1865.
There are no records in the files for T. J. Hargrove. Inasmuch as there are no parole records for him, one could assume he was not with his command at the very end of the war or didn't remain around while the others were being paroled. I checked the 10th Ark. Inf., no joy.
His pension application papers should provide information on his army service.
10th Regiment (Witt's) Arkansas Cavalry, also called Witt's Regiment Arkansas Cavalry formed in 1864 by the consolidation of remnants of the 10th Arkansas Infantry and various other organizations in the Dept.
