Joseph C. Porter, Lieut. Colonel, slightly wounded at the battle of Lexington, Mo., September 18, 1861, elected Colonel at Camp Williamstown, Servis [sp?] County, Mo., Colonel commanding brigade, Batseville, Ark. January 8, 1863,** wounded severely in thigh of right leg and fingers of left hand at Hartsville, Mo. January 11, 1863, died February 18, 1863, no other records

** Notation on card: "See vouchers of Burr & Co."
I suspect this may have been the company which provided a coffin for him.
