Col. T. H. McCray

I am making some annotations in the Shelby Order book to which Shelby sends a continuous flow of orders to Col. McCray at Jacksonport. I read a very interesting string in 2004 postings on McCray but it would seem that some information I lack is needed. I haven't accessed more Generals in Grey, in fact I didn't even know McCray had been appointed a General. It would help matters if any one knew if McCray left his order/letter book. This would go a very long way in helping out what units were organized by him in the summer of 64. Also, apparently McCray and Dobbins didn't get along very well. What is the origin of that dispute? Correct me if I am wrong, but it is my understanding that McCray commanded the 31st Arkansas Infantry which upon consolidation with other regiments in Tenn. he was ordered to return to Arkansas with his staff officers. Do we know who these men were?
