In Response To: Col. T. H. McCray ()

The friction of Dobbins and McCray may go back to the duel of Gen. Maraduke and Gen. Walker, in which Walker was killed Sept 7, 1863 three days before the fall of Little Rock. Dobbins had strong ties to General Walker and under his command. Gen. Dobbins had a strong contempt for Gen. Marmaduke and the Missiouri troops, when Gen. Marmaduke was removed from arrest and placed in command over him after the duel. Col. T.H. McCray served and had strong ties to the Marmaduke/Shelby faction in 1864. This may have lead to a problem.
