Re: Confederate Units at DeValls Bluff
Col. Samuel B. Maxey's 9th Texas Infantry on it way east passing through DeValls Bluff was riding on a train that wrecked on the Memphis & Little Rock Railroad. The wreck happened on the western edge of DeValls Bluff. At that time the terminus of the railroad was at DeValls Bluff. If I remember right they took steamboats on to Memphis. Their fights in the east started at Shiloh, Tn and Perryville, Ky.
