Re: Confederate Units at DeValls Bluff

I know some Texas unit was camped (going on memory here) a few hundred yards south of Red Bluff (north DeValls Bluff) later known as Remount Camp. A thin silver five pointed star hat badge was found in this area, it had T-E-X-A-S stamped in each point of the star. One letter was stamped in each point of the star and someone had folded the points in. I think it was Nelson and the Tenth Texas, before his death trip to Clarendon and back, but I'm not sure and I can't find my source at the moment. I know someone out there has the source. Also in the middle of DeValls Bluff at the high school football field a Leech and Rigdon (Memphis Novelty Works) CS tongue portion of a two piece tongue and wreath buckle was found on the five yard line. These buckles have been found all over central Arkansas. Like Mike said there were a alot more than the before mentioned CS troops in and out of DeValls Bluff before the Federals took control in 63.
