I am wondering if your William Davis is a son of my Louisa Rogers. In 1842 Louisa Rogers Davis and her husband William Davis are in a land court case in Lee County, Virginia. Louisa's mother had married a James Walling and was raised in McMinn County, TN. Her brother Henry Rogers and the family of her brother Edley Rogers move to Johnson/Yell and Logan counties ARkansas in 1850. The Rogers brothers lived in Hamilton County, TN. In 1850 it apppears both Louisa and another sister Lucinda may be dead.
