That's a really good question. The 1880 census for Magazine, Yell County, Arkansas states that my William Davis' father was born in South Carolina and his mother in Tennessee. Of course I have no idea who his parents were. They certainly could have been living in Virginia at some point even if born elsewhere. This is certainly an angle worth exploring! Allen
