Can anyone shed any light on the Skirimish Listed in "Goodspeed's Biographical and Historical Memoirs of Northeast Arkansas."? This
is a skirmish I am trying to research. According to Mr. Freeman, who was the historian for the Lawrence county history, mentions a Skirmish 1 and 1/2 Miles north of Powhatan. In my research of the OR, I did not find any reports that would fit this description. Lawrence County historians Joseph Taylor and Walter McLeod did not provide any information or elaborate about any skirmish in the area. Was Freeman mistaken or was there a skirmish in the area that was not recorded correctly?
