Re: Gunters Arkansas cavalry Battalion

So what I am getting a sense is that Gunter's Battalion was absorbed into the 7th Arkansas Cavalry. This would explain the number of companies in that regiment. I haven't looked as yet on the Price Raid OR reports, but did Gunter make a report of his part in the raid? Price wanted to centralize as much command and control as possible, thus Gunter being a Lt. Col. on 18 September only indicates that is his position on that date when much reorganization was taking place in preparation to starting the raid into Missouri.

Thanks for the input.
