Here is some additional information that I tried to assemble into some semblance of a timeline:

Co A-B-C-D, Harrell’s Bn— card notation says each was Co A-B-C-D [respectively], Crawford’s Bn Ark Cav
Co A Muster toll for March 17-June 30, 1863
Co B Muster roll for March 2-June 30, 1863 Stiffler’s Springs, Carroll Co, Ark
Co C Muster roll for March 16-June 30, 1863 Stiffler’s Springs
Co D Muster roll for March 10-June 30, 1863 Stiffler’s Springs

Example:
Tilford D. Gage enlisted as a Private in Company B, Crawford's Battalion, Arkansas Cavalry*, March 2, 1863 in Madison County by Capt. Phillips for the war, recorded present on the June 30. 1863 muster roll
* This battalion subsequently became Harrell's Battalion Arkansas Cavalry, which was also known as 17th Battalion Arkansas Infantry

Descriptive notation at bottom of card reads: "Crawford’s Battalion subsequently became Harrell’s Bn aka 17th Bn Ark Cav"

3/17/63 Crawford appears on company roster of Harrell’s Bn Ark cav-formerly Co A of Crawford’s Bn-signs as LtCol inspector & mustering officer

4/2/63 Little Rock-Harrell signed for personal clothing purchased as Major of Brooks’ regiment

4/2/63 Little Rock-Crawford signed for personal clothing purchased as LtCol cdg Independent Cavalry

12/17/63 Gunter to command of a cavalry battalion-

…Regarding Gunter's battalion -- Thomas Montague Gunter was a lieutenant-colonel in the 34th (Brooks') Arkansas Infantry when he was given command of a battalion of cavalry on December 17, 1863. Gunter's battalion is sometimes referred to as the 3rd Battalion Arkansas Cavalry. No muster rolls of the battalion, or service records of the men, can be found. Gunter's battalion served in Maj. Gen. James F. Fagan's division in the Camden Expedition and Price's Missouri Campaign
