Quick question, when did Daniel Turrentine become Captain? I find he was a 2nd and then a 1st LT in 1861 but then he is a private, and later a Cpl so seems he was reduced in rank for some reason or another or chose to go back to the ranks. It shows his capture at Is 10 and again at Port Hudson. His uniform is definately that of an officer but curious as to how all his ranks played out. Its a little confusing.
