Yes he is on the Jefferson Co AR census but there are no military records on him whatsoever. I am not sure about Pine Bluff newspapers still in existance, but many times if folks were carrying mail etc they did it for pay and advertised in the local paper, I know there are some of these in Arkasnas papers from Little Rock, so you might check the Ark Gazette, or LR True Democrat etc.
