I am of the opinion that if the facts are provable in this case of a Union Soldier being held in a southern POW camp in Helena awaiting to be exchanged in 1862, It would have had to have been a POW captured at Pea Ridge or some earlier engagement, and exchanged before General Curtis occupied Helena on July 12th. I would think that the exchange probably happened prior to Van Dorn abandoning the State in Mid April of 1862.
